Audio Tester

Check that left and right are the right way round, play test tones and sweeps, and see your microphone level live. Everything is generated and analysed in your browser.

Start low. Test tones and noise can be much louder and harsher than music, especially in headphones.

Left / right speaker test

Each click plays about 1.5 seconds on the chosen side only. If you hear the left test on the right, the channels are swapped. If one side is silent, check cables, balance settings and the output device.

Tone generator

Frequency sweep (20 Hz to 20 kHz)

A smooth 15 second glide from very low to very high. Listen for gaps, distortion, rattles or the point where the sound disappears, which shows the range your speakers (and ears) can reproduce.
